fort wadsworth

this is fort wadsworth as the title already let you know. it was the first fort where floating mines where deployed. apparently they called them torpedos and it was on a long string near where the Verrazano Bridge now stands above, from one side of the hudson river to the other, and sailors would just wait with their hands on some sort of detonating device and wait for British ships to venture into New York harbor, all the while there was a deadly string of floating mines bobbing around.

  1. cool man! glad you finally got a site going! it looks great. i think you should stick with the larger photo format. is that possible? like the photo at the top and the few at the bottom that are large. makes it easy to see without having to click for the full version. nice work! keep posting. come scan your shit at the studio sometime!
