Puerto Rico! first in an informative series of posts...

"...there will come a time when the poor will have only the rich to eat..."

i have no memory of seeing fireworks the first evening i arrived in PR. but, days later i found images of them on my camera and asked marianna about them. "oh yeah, we thought they were gunshots so we went outside to see..."

graffiti is everywhere-

meh. whats a title worth these days anyway?

(Leftover Pictures)

did i mention that bees rub their genitals all over flowers to make them beautiful?

now, we flash forward into the future to Fort Tilden, World War One fortress buried off the beaches of the Rockaways where two dashing explorers are...exploring i suppose. Not looking for treasure, but searching instead for graffiti (and the possible dead bum) and whatever else could be hidden beneath the sands.

lampooning our president? well i never

this used to be one of the many bomb storage rooms. where did all those bombs go that didn't kill people in europe? into the ocean of course!    http://scienceblogs.com/deepseanews/2007/06/munitions_dumping_at_sea.php

if you weren't looking for a military installation, you wouldn't know its even there until you come right up on it.

cody and i chased a troll into this building. i was peeing in the bushes, when all of a sudden an ugly little man ran by me . i quickly zipped up and took off after him, when i heard cody shriek like a schoolgirl, yelling something about a dirty midget trying to steal his bike. so i emerged from the bushes to see this thing tottering on the bike, but his legs wouldn't reach the pedals, so it was pretty sad, if not completely futile. i made a hissing sound that i use on the cats when i want them to do stop doing what they're doing, and it worked for the little dude too. regardless, cody hit him in the head with a pinecone and the troll took of into the woods, and then seemed to disappear into the back of the fireplace that was in this building. quite a rollicking adventure if i do say so meself
